The Illusion of
Alignment - How Scrum Teams can make Decisions Stick
Presented by Patricia Kong and David Spinks
One of the things that makes Scrum a powerful tool for
solving complex problems is how it guides a Scrum Team and its stakeholders to
leverage their collective experiences and diverse perspectives. However, this
potential for problem solving brings its own challenges which includes how
decisions are made as a group in a way that is satisfactory to everyone
involved. A collective decision may appear to have been made, but some
participants may feel frustrated or confused, they may feel like their
contributions were not understood or they were not given enough of an
opportunity to share their thoughts for example.
In this webinar, Patricia Kong and PST David Spinks discuss the
group dynamics involved in decision making and how facilitation skills can help
a Scrum Team navigate through periods of frustration, confusion or
disengagement to reach true alignment on their collective decisions.

Transform Your Tech:
Learn and Build Agile, Prepared and Security-focused Teams
Presented by Michael Yoo and Brad Puckett
Threats to an organization’s data come from all angles;
inside, outside, burnt out employees, even honest mistakes. The broad nature of
the threatscape makes cybersecurity everyone’s responsibility
Business leaders now recognize the cybersecurity is just as
much their concern as it is for their partners in IT. Gartner research found
that 88% of Boards agree cyber-threats pose a risk to the business (meaning,
it’s not just IT’s problem).
This is good news for CISO’s who’ve worked hard to convince
Boards of the very serious threats to the business – even those that come from
inside the organization where the greatest defenses lie.
Join Skillsoft, as part of our Transformative Tech series,
as we demonstrate how we can educate your organization to foster a culture of
cybersecurity and unify all employees to manage risk and encourage agility and
vigilance.

DevOps: There and Back
Again (A Q&A with Our DevOps Experts)
Panelists: Chris Knotts, Jeff Sussna, Matt Genelin, Sean
McDaniel
Anyone who offers you a canned, simplistic definition
of DevOps probably hasn’t had “boots on the
ground” in the effort to achieve it. DevOps requires that we build our own
story by using desired business outcomes as a key component to map that
journey. It’s only natural that questions will arise along the way.
Join a collaborative conversation with Cprime
DevOps experts as we share practical tips, tricks and traps to avoid in the
effort to make incremental changes that prove value and help scale impact to
the greater team and organization.
Share your symptoms and pains and we will be on standby to help you diagnose and
treat your DevOps ailments.

What Every Business Analyst
Should Know About Privacy in the European Union
Presented by Christiane Vandepitte and Guy Kindersman
As a Business Analysis Professional, you are involved in the
design of business software applications and business processes. You need to
take many aspects into consideration, and one of them is PRIVACY. Businesses
and other organisations need to be careful with the PERSONAL DATA they
register. There are rules for collecting, storing, using, sharing and erasing
personal data.
Does this apply to you? Does your business process handle Personally
Identifiable Information (PII)? How does the processing work? Where are the
records? Are they copied and sent to other places?
Different regions of the world enforce different privacy laws and regulations.
Which of these apply to your data? What if different laws from different regions
apply? For instance, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to
personal data of both citizens and residents of the European Union.
What should you do? What should you avoid doing? What preventive action can you
take?
Join us and learn more about this important aspect of your job!

9 Business Analysis
Techniques to Reduce Project Failure Rates
Presented by Emily Midgley, Tamara Copple, Imtiaz Kaderbhoy
and Susan Moore
Did you know that October 13th is International Day for
Failure? It may be strange or even ironic to have a day dedicated to the
celebration of failure but as Thomas A. Edison once said “ I have not failed.
I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
71% of transformation initiatives fail to reach desired outcomes. (1) And
failure rates specifically for big data projects, analytics, and Artificial
Intelligence loom large at 85%, according to Designing for Analytics. Business
analysis increases project success rates by 63% (2) by improving a team’s
efficiency in projects, clarifying scope with, and advocating for business
stakeholders and the customer.
On this day of failure let us celebrate with much zeal and learning about
business analysis techniques from IIBA’s A Guide to the Business Analysis Body
of Knowledge Guide (BABOK® Guide) that can help with reducing failure and
increasing project success rates.
The 9 BABOK® Guide Techniques we will discuss are:
1. Lessons Learned
2. Risk Analysis and Management
3. Brainstorming
4. Use Cases and Scenarios
5. Decision Analysis
6. Financial Analysis
7. Interface Analysis
8. Root Cause Analysis
9. Acceptance and Evaluation Criteria

Find Problems Before
They Occur with Machine Learning and Analytics
Presented by Steve Blais, PMP, PMI-PBA
We all would love to be more proactive and anticipate
problems so that we can take steps to solve them before they occur (if indeed,
it is possible to solve a problem before it is one). While there are people who
seem to have a knack for predicting, especially problems, few of us have
trained with Nostradamus and learned the art of prognostication.
We do have, however, some tools that will provide some direction if not some
actual answers. Predictive analytics, diagnostic analytics and prescriptive
analytics coupled with machine learning technology can go a long way to
predicting problems and suggesting solutions, which in many cases is simply
taking actions to avoid the problem in the first place.
This webinar addresses project managers, business analysts and other non-data
scientists and non-developers and provides guidance as to how machine learning
and analytics can provide some insight into the future of your projects and
products provided the right questions are asked. It will also address the issue
of asking the right questions.
