Real-World AI - How to Use it Now for Real Advantage
Presented by Geoffrey De Smet, Principal Software Engineer and OptaPlanner Lead at Red Hat

Artificial intelligence is gaining a foothold in many enterprises today, with promises to unlock secrets hidden in mountains of enterprise data, revolutionize business efficiency and free workers from mundane, repetitive tasks. But artificial intelligence is a very broad category of technical solutions. How do we apply it to solve actual problems, and what types of AI deliver quick, measurable results?

In this webinar, Geoffrey De Smet will explore one common type of problem, and the application of AI to find solutions that are virtually impossible to determine by other means. Enterprises in every industry frequently encounter the problem of optimizing resource usage. Whether it's routing and scheduling a fleet of maintenance vehicles and workers, creating a shift roster for hundreds of staff, or optimizing inventory in complex supply chains, all these planning problems have one thing in common: they reward those who can find the best solution with outstanding competitive advantage.

Join us to learn how organizations are using Red Hat's Decision Manager to solve their most challenging problems through optimization of their key resources. We'll cover:

Different types of optimization problems and how to tackle them
Why optimization is so hard, and the value of getting it right
Real world examples for vehicle routing and maintenance scheduling

Scrum Teams Are Self-Organizing. Get Over it.
Presented by David Sabine

In this Scrum Pulse webinar, Professional Scrum Trainer David Sabine will examine self-organization in teams and explore examples of self-organization in the workplace. David’s premise is simple: Scrum Teams are self-organizing. He asserts that is not a statement of preference or intention; rather, it is a statement of objective fact.

Scrum is among a very small number of frameworks which acknowledge that self-organization is natural. Scrum asserts that the quality of decisions increases when stakeholders collaborate with and trust the wisdom of their teams. The opposite is also true: Scrum’s design implies that common misbehaviors of managers (intervention, command & control) have costly consequences. This webinar will help you learn strategies to better manage the work environment to support Scrum Teams and enable successful self-organization.

Join us. Strong opinions are welcome.

Are You Prepared For The BA Apocalypse?
Presented by: Joanne Dong, Founder, JDStream Management Consulting Inc.
Stefan Bossuwé CBAP, President IIBA Brussels Chapter
Kevin Brennanm Product Management and Leadership Consultant
Adrian Reed CBAP, Principal Consultant and Director at Blackmetric Business Solutions

Few would doubt that we live in a fast-moving business environment. Technologies including automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning are impacting many traditional roles. As business analysts we need to be constantly seeking to adapt else our careers will face significant uncertainty.

Imagine a world in five or ten years where:
·        Draft business rules can be intelligently read from legislation and systemised
·        Tools can ‘discover’ information about business processes from raw text and static artifacts
·        A ‘Chat bot’ can ask a stakeholder a series of questions to determine their basic needs

These examples might seem far-fetched but bear in mind that even today business people are already creating applications with low-code / citizen-app development platforms with very little or no intervention of BA’s (nor developers for that matter). And expect those platforms to become more powerful and easier to use in the coming years, which implies that business will require less BA intervention even in more complex applications.

These tools could either be a valuable addition to a BA’s toolkit or a threat -- and we have the choice to decide which they will be. However, with increasing commoditization and automation of the ‘scribing’ of solution requirements, how do we plan and prepare to protect our careers?

You Need to Know Data: How to Become Data Literate in 7 Steps
Presented by RJ Williams

A recent study by AppDirect stated 80% of companies are in the process of digital transformation, but 90% of those companies are facing significant obstacles to success. 24% of these obstacles are related to a lack of understanding and knowledge, and one of the key areas that professionals lack familiarity with is data.

Data literacy involves understanding what data means, including how to read graphs and charts correctly, draw accurate conclusions from data, and recognize when data is being used in misleading or inappropriate ways. This basically means those who are data literate can work with and understand data.

Because data is one of the key pillars of digital transformation, every business professional needs to be data literate. If everyone in your organization is not harnessing the power of data, you and your organization will be bested by your data literate competitors.
This webinar will give business professionals who are lacking foundational data knowledge the terms and concepts they need to know so that they can thrive in this new digital landscape.

You will Learn:

·        Review core data terms and concepts every business person should know
·        Examine practical examples of data analysis and analytics for business
·        Learn how you can help create a data-driven corporate culture

How Stack Sports used Nexus to Scale Scrum and Maximize Value
Presented by Brandon Shangraw, Director of Product and Abel Rios, Director of Engineering from Stack Sports

Stack Sports had been practicing Scrum for 2 years and then had the need to scale quickly on multiple platforms. They needed to maximize value and create visibility across applications. Because of these needs they decided to use the Nexus framework for scaling Scrum to do so. Nexus extends Scrum to guide multiple Scrum Teams on how they work together to deliver working products in every Sprint. It shows the journey these teams take as they come together, how they share work between teams, and how they manage and minimize dependencies. They also eventually had a Nexus+ and descaled to separate Nexuses.

In this webinar Brandon Shangraw, Director of Product and Abel Rios, Director of Engineering from Stack Sports, along with Patricia Kong, Product Owner, Enterprise Solutions, Scrum.org will talk about their journey using Scrum and Nexus and hit on the following key principles that they focused on during their journey:

·        Keeping value at the core of the change with empiricism and Evidence-Based Management (EBM) being the foundation of decisions
·        Remembering that Nexus can help you scale the value of multiple teams, but it is not the cure for all problems
·        Keeping people at the heart of Nexus to ensure success

Don't be a Ditka
Presented by Daniel Vacanti

How good are you at estimating value?

Most teams make suboptimal prioritization/value decisions every day because they are forced to make those decisions under:
Conditions of scarcity (not enough time, money, or people)
Conditions of stress (customers want their requests handled right now and delivered yesterday)
Conditions of uncertainty (imperfect information about their current state and future state)
These poor decisions adversely affect their ability to effectively, efficiently, and predictably deliver value to their customers. While teams will not be able to change these conditions, they can learn to make better decisions by embracing them.

We will explore these topics using the 1999 NFL draft as a backdrop. In that year, Mike Ditka famously was overconfident in his ability to estimate player value and disastrously bet the farm on one pick. We will explore the options Mike Ditka had (and every team has) in the NFL draft as well as prioritization options we have on a daily basis. We will expose some flaws in the commonly used prioritization methods (By Value, CD3, WSJF etc.). We will also propose a mode of working that helps with effective prioritization under conditions of scarcity, stress and uncertainty.

Becoming an Agile Leader
Presented by Scrum.org

Agile leaders help their teams and organizations grow to meet new challenges and find new ways of working. They amplify the nascent capabilities in their teams by helping them to achieve their full potential. The experience can be deeply rewarding, but it can also be at times lonely and uncertain; Most aspiring agile leaders have few role models from whom they can learn, and they can experience indifferent support from their own senior managers. They also can feel anxiety as they let go of their traditional responsibilities and authority in order to help others grow their capability.

In this Scrum Pulse webinar, Kurt Bittner from Scrum.org and Ralph van Roosmalen from Management 3.0 will discuss the challenges leaders face as they try to grow their agility, how they can help their organizations to improve, and tools and practices that can help them to help themselves and their teams. Questions discussed will include:

·        Why would a manager want to give up their traditional authority to help a team grow? What’s in it for them?
·        What tools and practices can help?
·        How can a manager working in a traditional organization work to empower their teams?
·        How can managers and teams decide when the teams are ready for more responsibility? And what things can the manager do to help them take it on?
