Writing Effective User Stories

Presented by Tomette Kirk, BA Manager, Humana

Writing User Stories for an agile project team is simpler than you might think! By using a five-part model, you can write effective user stories for an agile product (or 'requirements' in a waterfall world).

The five parts are: Who? Does? What? Why? Done when?

When you include all five parts in your user story or requirement, you have a better chance of representing the business need, the true actor, and the testing criteria. Leave this session with the confidence that you can write effective user stories!

Learning Objectives:
     1. Discover the five parts of a user story: Who? Does? What? Why? Done when?
     2. Dive deeper into each of the five parts
     3. Review some examples of well written (and not-so-well written) user stories
