Characteristics of a Great Product Owner

Presented by Mary Iqbal, Professional Scrum Trainer

The Scrum Guide doesn't provide a complete list of the skills required for any of the accountabilities on a Scrum Team. Instead, the Scrum Guide simply states that the Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the Scrum Team’s work. How this is carried out varies based on the individual, the company and even the product. And yet, there are some characteristics that are consistently found in great Product Owners.

In this Scrum Pulse webcast, PST Mary Iqbal will explore the accountability of the Product Owner and walk the audience through characteristics of an effective Product Owner.

Developing Your Growth Mindset

Presented by Dr. Annie Shibata, PhD

Now more than ever, in a diverse world, we need to develop skills for listening, empathy, and connection. To create deep meaning with others, and build strong relationships based on mutual understanding, we need to be mindful, have clear goals, and cultivate the ability to communicate with people who differ from us in lived experiences. It also requires us to learn new skills to apply across varied platforms and time zones. Developing a Growth Mindset is crucial for success in a rapidly changing world.

Developing a growth mindset is a process, not an event, and we’re all on the continuum of growth. In this interactive virtual event, participants will have an opportunity to engage in some review of their own place on the growth mindset continuum, learn behaviors that contribute to a growth mindset, and have the option to engage their own growth with a follow up activity.

Is the Digital Skills Gap Hindering Your Organisation's Agility? With Christina Lovelock and Jamie Toyne (part of the Leeds Digital Festival)

Presented by Christina Lovelock, Jamie Toyne and Adrian Reed

The digital skills gap is now arguably the biggest risk to digital transformation globally.

Organisations that keep “recruiting like we always have” are facing spiralling costs and regular disruption; recurring cost of constant recruitment, costs of attracting and retaining top talent, costs of covering “short term gaps”.

To stay ahead of our competitors we need to deliver our projects and products effectively and at pace, and to do so we need to start thinking differently. Fast.

In this session we will discuss the digital skills gap: what it is, how it has the potential to hinder an organisation's ability to deliver. More importantly, we'll discuss what we can all do about it. Now.

Hear views from our highly experienced panel, and get your questions answered too.

In this session, you'll hear:
What the digital skills gap is, and why it matters
Practical steps practitioners and organisations can take
The importance of equity, diversity & inclusion in bridging the skills gap

This panel session will be relevant to anyone who is contributing to, or leading digital initiatives within an organisation, from individual products to large scale digital transformation. Whether you're a digital professional in a delivery team, practice leader or CIO, join us to discuss this vital topic.
